Based on user feedback, our team is working on several enhancements to Hero’s medications feature to better align with how medications are received and administered in a school environment. The first 3 of these enhancements have now been released, with more in the pipeline.
Add Stock to an Existing Batch
To account for medication that is received in weekly increment, we have updated the stock handling to allow stock to be added to an existing batch.
Click Adjust Stock to update the existing stock level (up or down).
We’ve provided the ability to change the level of stock by a quantity (+ or - an amount), or change the level of stock to the new quantity on hand.
Along with this, the Expiry and Review dates are no longer mandatory for schools outside of New South Wales (the DoE requires these dates to be mandatory for NSW schools).
Ability to Administer Scheduled Medication Outside of the Schedule
On occasion, scheduled medication needs to be administered in addition to that already scheduled (e.g. top up for a sports event or after school care).
The Administer icon is now available even when a schedule exists. Clicking Administer will display a warning and provide the option to branch to the regular schedule or to administer an additional dose.
Include All Medications in the Medical Room Report
The List Builder > Premade Lists > Medical Room Report has been enhanced to include medications held in the medication register.
If linked to a medical condition, the medical condition label will prefix the medication details. If not linked, ‘Other: ‘ is used. The unit of measure, dose, administered by and administration detail are included alongside the medication name.
This report is being further enhanced to improve the layout, filtering and to include the student profile image for added security.
