Explore new enhancements made to Hero's printing functionality, and gain greater flexibility over what's made visible in student reports, alongside key security updates, below!
Printing Tweaks
Statement Printing - To align with improved banking security, the Bank Payee Name will now print on student statements. Along with this, we have streamlined the process to only print the Bank a/c, Payee Name and GST Number, if content exists under Finance Options. Note: The words ‘Bank a/c’ will now be printed by Hero so remove these words from your finance options if they have been included.
Tag Data Sheet Printing - A layout change to Tag Data Sheets, enables tag sets with a large number of tags and tags with particularly long names to print successfully.
Security Enhancements
Hero continues to strive for the highest security standards. The following changes have been implemented as part of this aim.
Stronger Password Rules - Stronger password rules mean greater security of student content.
When resetting passwords for staff and caregivers the following rules will apply -
- Must be 14 characters or more in length
- Must contain upper and lower case characters
- Must contain a number
- Must contain a special character
When resetting passwords for students the following rules will apply -
- Must be 6 characters or more in length
- Must contain upper and lower case characters
- Must contain a number
- Must contain a special character
Staff Permission Changes - All staff created via Admin Menu > Staff Members will now default to ‘Restricted’ Page Access. To support this change, Administrators are now able to access limited (admin related) options on the Permissions tab (formerly only visible to the Principal and Principal’s Delegate) and set those permissions.
Profanity Alert - Caregiver comments will now produce a warning if they contain a recognised profanity. This warning shows when moderating the comment to assist staff with deciding to accept or decline the comment.
Student Reporting
Curriculum Goals Report Printing - Previously any goal that had incurred a click in the current year, and all charts and expectations that were set as visible to parents, would appear on the student report, even if it was assigned to a page that was not included on the report.
Showing Curriculum Goals on the report is now in your hands with a new option at the goals level.
- Yes - the goal will always show on the report if parents can see goals and they have been activated in the current year, even if they are not on a page, or are on a page that does not feed to the report. The milestones and expectations that are set to be visible to parents will always show on the report if there is any expectation data.
- No - goals or milestone and expectation information from this subject will not show on the report, even the subject is assigned to a page that feeds to the report.
- If on a Page that’s visible on Reports - Goals and milestone and expectation information will only show on the report if they are visible to parents, assigned to a page, and the page they are assigned to is included on the report.
Note: all current goals have been defaulted to ‘If on a Page that’s visible on Reports’.
