A series of enhancements have touched down for all Hero schools:
- Long Goal Descriptions - We know that lengthy goal descriptions can disrupt tables. Now, only the first 3 lines will be displayed, with the option to hover over the description to view the remainder.
- Sickbay Register - Some students wouldn't appear within the selection process. This has been resolved.
- Student Ethnicity Flags - Now showing on student profile cards!
- Post Notification Date/Time Stamp - When updating the date/time stamp on a student post, both the notification and post will show the new date/time.
- Class Teachers Ability to Delete Student Posts - This has been restored.
Analysing Attendance per ½ day:
As attendance is marked for a student, Hero calculates a ‘day’ code based on the marks entered. This code is uploaded to the DoE who analyse the code per ½ day. In line with the DoE, all attendance analysis in Hero will now report data per ½ day.
As the attendance structure only has a single period, the 1/2 days will be derived from the calculated day code as follows:
- If a student has a ‘present’ code all day, that will equate to 2 x 1/2 days present.
- If the student has been ‘absent’ all day, that will equate to 2 x 1/2 days absent. This will display as either justified or unjustified based on the code.
- If the student had a partial absence and they have been absent for >= 120mins, they will have 1 x 1/2 day present and 1 x 1/2 day absent.
- If the student has a partial absence but it was for < 120mins, they are present for the 2 x 1/2 day.
- Codes M & H will be excluded from attendance analysis percentages and will show on the student map as ‘grey’.
