About Angela
Angela is a Primary-Trained Teacher, having worked 12 years as a Middle Years Teacher and Leader in New Zealand. In 2003 she was recognised as an aspiring leader and awarded the Ministry of Education Linking Minds Scholarship to research digital literacy in the United Kingdom.
In 2005, Angela was appointed Head of Middle School at St Margaret’s College in Christchurch and extensively used MYSA (Middle Years of Schooling Association) research in the establishment of this Middle School.
Angela was an executive member of NZAIMS (NZ Association of Intermediate and Middle Schooling), NZ Ambassador for the Habits of Mind and has her own program called the Habits of Heart which teaches emotional literacy in schools. She has presented at numerous national and international conferences and conducted in school professional development events on adolescent development and engagement.
Most recently Angela was Executive Officer for Adolescent Success, a not for profit national Australian teachers association.
