NZ MoE 2025 Attendance Changes | Hero Changelog

As per MoE requirements several attendance changes have been implemented, effective from 27 January 2025. These have been tested and approved by the MoE.

Code Changes

All future attendance codes have been aligned with the revised code set. Codes used in previous years remain unchanged. All attendance reports have been updated to cater for current and historical codes.

Daily Attendance Upload

• A new Daily Attendance Collection upload has been created and activated. This will upload all attendance records at a school for the last 28 days (not going back beyond 2025).  
• The Weekly Attendance Survey has been discontinued.  
• The Daily upload cannot be used in conjunction with the Termly Attendance Survey. 
• As required by the MoE, the default for all schools has been set to use the Daily upload - however a school is permitted to change back to the Termly option if they wish.

Attendance Corrections Upload

Accompanying the daily upload, a new Attendance Corrections File upload has been created. This enables a school to upload any corrections made to attendance codes prior to the 28 day collection timeframe i.e. if a code is changed 32 days ago, this will be included in the corrections file, but if a code is changed 15 days ago it will not be included as it is already incorporated into in the daily collections file.
